This is mainly a blog about the doings of two dogs and a cat, but with additional comments on my life thrown in

dogs and food..
blinkin' dogs - there's been Travellers set up camp in the carpark of our most popular local dogwalking woods for a coupla weeks now. I'm assuming the Forestry Commission know, don't know what if anything they'll do. Wasn't fussed til today, when the increased amounts of rubbish and food left lying around is starting to attract the dogs and I had to go and get them twice, put them on the lead and drag them off. There's three of the travellers' dogs there already, all relatively small and on tethers so not fussed about that - although today there was a wee man, about six I'd say, there and saw Murphy heading over purposefully. His reaction was perhaps telling - a clear voice says "There's going to be a dogfight, Daddy!" (with every appearance of interest if not enthusiasm!) Not on my watch! - I stride over, saying "No there isn't" in a normal voice and drag Murphy away from the food, swearing at him under my breath..

We've had similar down here in Yorkshire. Nice land turned into a hazardous waste dump. Any judging by the huge increase in crimes as circulated by the neighbourhood watch, one can only surmise. But of course the police cannot link the spike in crime (and the subsequent plummet back to normal) to the arrival and departure of these people, even though the same pattern occurs year after year. Must be something wrong with their crime pattern analysis computer :(
ReplyDeleteA lot of them came and camped on the open grass at the beach last year (where the cricket pitch is, so that put paid to that for a while) and I have never seen so much litter in my life! The Council had it all cleaned up very quickly after they moved - well done them - but it must cost and the Council is broke as it is..
ReplyDeleteMaybe the police have got their charts upside down!
