As Christmas rushes upon us, now is the time to consider whether we have been good or bad this year, Maddie..
Whether we have stolen people's slippers and growled at them when they come to take them away; followed the cat and been unable to help ourselves from whining and barking at her; run across the road and leapt about the Community Education carpark until mammy or daddy come out and shake the biscuit box at us; deafened all those within earshot when Murphy has something we want and spent our free time counter-surfing and making off with the resultant goodies....
But if, on the other hand, we have achieved our Bronze AND Silver Good Citizen Dog Scheme Awards this year, been ever so good in all our training classes, learnt to like doggy toothpaste and not run away when we see the toothbrush, come for bosies every night, put up with being left most of the day during the week and not chewed anything or developed any unattractive habits from it, stayed close on walks, entertained doggy visitors with gallops round the garden, been VERY good with four year olds "brushing" us and hauling on our collars and curled up and quietly gone to sleep at Guide meetings...
THEN, maybe Santa will come after all.
MERRY CHRISTMAS MADDIE!!!
